After breakfast, proceed to Miaoli and experience the century-old railway journey, aboard the Old Mountain Line Rail Bike. It is the most beautiful mountain railway in Taiwan, connecting nine tunnel groups and four consecutive bridges. When taking the rail bike, you will encounter scenic spots such as damaged in disastrous earthquakes and its broken arches remain is now known as Remains of Longteng Bridge. Shengxing Train Station is a century-old station and the highest-altitude station in the Western Taiwan Railway Line. There are many facilities from the Japanese colonial period in the station, becoming valuable artifacts of this historical site. Later visit West Lake Resortopia, an attraction that combines leisure, entertainment, cultural experiences, and natural beauty - an ideal place to relax and enjoy nature. This morning, head to Taiwan’s cultural, economic, and political centre, Taipei. First, proceed to National Martyrs' Shrine, built to honour the fallen Kuomintang soldiers after the Chinese Civil War. If time permits, you can watch the Changing of the Guard ceremony! After, get captivated by the charming garden landscape at Chiang Kai-shek Shilin Residence Park. Enjoy exploring the Chinese-style inner garden landscaped with a stream running under an artificial bridge, peculiarly shaped rocks, and a red-painted Chinese summerhouse, whereas the European-style outer garden with carpet bed of exuberant flowers. Then proceed to Dihua Street, lined with beautifully restored shop houses occupied by long-established businesses and recently opened cultural-creative enterprises. Wander through the alleys and streets of the old Dadaocheng area, where you will be presented with a rich mix of East and West, history and the future, and modernity and tradition.
