Assemble at Singapore Changi Airport for your flight to Fukuoka, a vibrant yet compact city in Western Japan and the gateway to Kyushu for many travellers. Upon arrival, proceed to ascend the Fukuoka Tower, Japan’s tallest seaside tower to enjoy a 360 degree panoramic view that covers the city of Fukuoka to Hakata Bay. Thereafter, visit the shopping and entertainment hotspot Canal City Hakata, creatively designed with vivid colours galore. This complex is a miniaturised city within a city, with everything from a movie theatre and amusement park to restaurants and shops.

Take a morning visit to Daizaifu Tenmangu, a famous shrine enveloped with 6,000 plum trees and enjoy Umegaemochi tasting here. Next, walk on the Kokonoe "Yume" Grand Suspension Bridge to take in sights of the surrounds that offers a bird’s eye view of unspoilt nature’s splendour. Your journey will, quite literally, reach a boiling point as you make a jaunt to the renowned Beppu Jigoku Meguri. Visit Umi-jigoku, a pond of boiling blue water. Not quite Dante’s inferno, but one that will leave an impression nonetheless. This evening, pamper yourself with a traditional hot spring bath at an onsen resort in Beppu.

This morning, we’ll take a leisure cross island drive to Hiroshima. Along the way, make a stop at Kitsuki Castle Town to visit rustic samurai houses. After lunch, hop on a ferry ride to Miyajima Island and visit Itsukushima Shrine, a superb architectural beauty that appears to float on water during high tide. Don’t miss out on the iconic Otorii Gate, believed to be the gateway between the spirit and human worlds. Then, take a stroll down bustling Miyajima Omotesando Street before heading back to hotel.

After breakfast, proceed to UNESCO World Heritage site Hiroshima Peace Memorial, the only physical remnant of the first atomic bomb that was dropped during the Second World War on 6th August 1945. Arrive in Kurashiki in the afternoon and enjoy an idyllic walk in Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter, a picturesque old town with white-walled storehouses along narrow stone-paved streets.

Today, travel to Himeiji, the economic, cultural and educational centre of Harima province. Visit the iconic Himeiji Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Japan’s most impressive and best preserved feudal castles. Explore the labyrinth of passages and baileys amidst the abundant cherry blossom trees that blanket the castle grounds. Next, head to Kobe Animal Kingdom for an up close and personal experience with animals like the capybara, kangaroo and giant tortoise. Thereafter, quench your thirst for sake and sake brewing knowledge at Nada Sake Brewery. End the day at Kobe Harborland and take in the panoramic sunset views from the waterfront boardwalk.

After breakfast, travel to Kyoto. Upon arrival, visit Byodoin Temple. Originally built as a countryside villa for the prominent Fujiwara clan, it was then subsequently converted into a temple housing the remarkable Phoenix Hall, that is featured on Japan’s 10 yen coin. Next, make a stop at one of the city’s cultural legacies and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kiyomizu-dera Temple This distinctive Kyoto landmark features a wooden veranda that hangs over the valley, providing a panoramic view of the city as you take in more than a thousand years of history. End your day with some retail therapy at one of Osaka’s most popular shopping districts, Shinsaibashi-Shopping Street, which offers an array of shopping options from familiar high-street shops to high-end retailers.

For a local gastronomic experience, Naniwa Food Theme Park located in Tempozan Marketplace shopping mall is the perfect place to satisfy your taste buds with a wide variety of dishes and specialities from Osaka.
