Begin your day with a visit to Zermatt Village – an old, idyllic village nestled in a deep valley enclosed between steep mountains and situated right at the foot of the Matterhorn. This car-free village is a trove of fanciful chalets and eclectic boutiques. Take a cog railway to the Gornergrat at 3,089m to see glorious panoramas of the mighty Matterhorn and the Monte Rosa Massif, including the Dufourspitze – the highest peak in Switzerland.
